Your Physio Wallan Questions Answered
Your first physiotherapy session starts with a conversation about your background and health history to help us understand your concerns. We then conduct a physical assessment to evaluate your movement and mobility. Based on this, we create a treatment plan aligned with your goals. If time allows, your session may also include hands-on therapy, exercises, or stretches suited to your condition.
Physiotherapists, osteopaths, and myotherapists all treat pain, but their approaches differ. Physiotherapists concentrate on movement and musculoskeletal conditions, myotherapists focus on soft tissue issues, and osteopaths apply techniques to improve the body’s structure and function.
Whether you need guidance for sports performance or exercises to support mobility as you age, we offer physiotherapy for all ages and abilities. Our team has worked with individuals managing various conditions, such as:
- Musculoskeletal conditions (pain and stiffness in muscles and joints, affecting areas like the back, neck, knees, ankles, hands, wrists, and shoulders)
- BPPV (vertigo)
- Deconditioning (recovery after surgery, balance challenges, risk of falls, and vulnerable groups)
- Sports injuries
- Neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, FND, MS)
- Osteoarthritis
- Post-surgery rehabilitation
Plus many others!
No matter what your injury is, where it’s located, or how mild or severe it is, a physiotherapist or sports trainer aims to assist athletes in their recovery. The treatment will depend on many different factors, but generally speaking, this involves rehabilitation exercises and pain relief techniques in an effort to address the current condition and hopefully prevent future injury.
