Your Physio Woodend Questions Answered
Our approach to assessing and addressing your concerns begins with getting to know you. After all, we’re all members of our local community! We discuss your background and history to give us the best understanding possible of your concern, and then do a physical assessment to look at your mobility and movement. Then, we’ll create a treatment plan based on your goals. If there’s time left at the end of your first appointment, we may then do some soft tissue release, exercises, or stretches, depending on your condition and concerns.
Each of these professionals plays a role in managing pain and mobility. Physiotherapists focus on musculoskeletal health and movement, myotherapists specialise in soft tissue pain, and osteopaths use manual techniques to enhance body function.
Whether you’re an athlete looking for a sports trainer or a grandparent searching for exercises to help you stay active, we’ve got you covered! We’re proud to offer physio services for all members of your family, regardless of their age or abilities. We have experience working with people with conditions such as:
- Musculoskeletal conditions (pain and stiffness in muscles and joints, affecting areas like the back, neck, knees, ankles, hands, wrists, and shoulders)
- BPPV (vertigo)
- Deconditioning (post-operative care, stability issues, fall prevention, and assistance for vulnerable populations)
- Sports injuries
- Neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, FND, MS)
- Osteoarthritis
- Post-surgery rehabilitation
And more!
No matter what your injury is, where it’s located, or how mild or severe it is, a physiotherapist or sports trainer aims to assist athletes in their recovery. The treatment will depend on many different factors, but generally speaking, this involves rehabilitation exercises and pain relief techniques in an effort to address the current condition and hopefully prevent future injury.
